Show us your boat dogs!

12/29/15

There are four kinds of people in the world.  Boat people, other people, dog people, cat people.  We are boat dog people.  We want to see your furry first mates!  Send us a picture of your boat dog, or add #handmmarine on Instagram to a picture of your boat dog and we will put it on our website.  Any great boat dog stories will be equally appreciated.  Our all time favorite boat dog is my brother Ethan's (one of the owner's) old dog Gertie.  She sailed around the world and swam with seals.  She was pretty amazing.  Happy new years to you and your canine compadres.

(Not to leave out boat cats, we love them too.)

This is a video submitted to us by some happy customers Greg and Ashley.  We repowered their 1980 35' Baba, built in the Ta-Shing yard in Taiwan (also known as the Flying Dutchman) with a Beta 38.  This is a great example of the custom work we do, and then fun that can be had doing it.  They were a lot of fun to work with, as they live aboard, they stayed here at Clipper for about a month from beginning to end.  We are glad you two are so happy with your new motor and look forward to going sailing soon!  Cheers.

Before and After Gallery

8/26/15

We are working on a "Before and After Gallery" to exhibit some amazing makeover projects we have taken on here at H & M Marine.  This first one is a personal project by one of our owner's Ben Hirschfeld.  Ben bought this used 1992 Donzi 18 classic of Craigslist in brutal shape.  Normally a dangerous thing to do, luckily being a professional marine mechanic has a few benefits.  Even still, love affairs with boats is no cheap thrill, after a year of work and a few pretty pennies, Ben transformed this boat from a trainwreck, to a monster.  It is now powered by a  Mercuriser 260 V8 (Ben does love his horsies) and completely redid the panels.  Everything is completely redone, shined and ready to go to Lake Sonoma this weekend.
